The objective of a preliminary examination is to verify whether projects are feasible, profitable and plausible. External consultants will be called in if necessary to do this but usually expert surveys, reports and the like on the potential associate company are analysed in addition to our internal research.

Emphasis is placed on the following areas:
  • Market analysis
  • Plausibility
  • Technology
  • Management qualities
  • Corporate evaluation

A legal and financial due diligence will be carried out. For this, the last annual financial statements, current business management evaluation (BWA) and capital structure documentation will be requested and assessed.

If the result of the preliminary examination is positive, a declaration of intent to invest will be issued to the capital-seeking company in the form of a "Letter of Intent" (LOI).
